DETA 2000 (Doncaster Engineering Training Association) is an engineering training provider based in Doncaster.

Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO)

Level 2 NVQ is an intermediate apprenticeship that  equip apprentices with the basic skills and knowledgeto carry out a range of engineering and manufacturing processes at semi-skilled and operator level. 

Level 3 NVQ Advanced apprenticeship

Level 3 NVQ  advanced apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture, Engineering Maintenance ( mech and elec), Electrical Maintenance, Technical Support and Fabrication and Welding. Day release at college for BTEC or City and Guilds technical certificate and NVQ assessed on the job. For other apprenticeships, please telephone us. 


Level 3 NVQ Upskilling engineering

No day release at college, This NVQ is assessed 100 percent within the workplace, over 12 visits. The NVQs are; Engineering maintenance, Fabrication and welding, Refrigeration and Air conditioning,  Electrical and Mechanical maintenance and manufacture. These NVQs are ideal to obtain a craftsman’s title and anyone who requires a SKILLcard blue or gold. These are popular with some of the top engineering and rail companies within Yorkshire

Level 2 NVQ upskilling

This is for anyone who wants to upskill and does not have any formal qualifications. This is over 12 visits and is ideal for novices . All engineering sectors mechanical and electrical and our new refrigeration and air conditioning NVQs. .These NVQs are ideal for anyone wanting obtain a SKILLcard (Blue )

18th Edition Wiring regulations 3 days Course

Full course: 3 full days of theory with online 60 question exam. All work must comply by January 2019 to the 18th edition standard.

Level 3 Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

2 day Pat testing course in Doncaster, This training has 2 elements a practical and online test. Once passed you will be qualified as a Level 3Pat testing Technician. Visit our Electrical page for more information.

CG 2391/50 51 & 52 Inspection and Testing

The new City and Guilds /EAL Inspection and Testing qualification, that was formally 2394 & 2395. This is now available as separate courses or 1 combination course with both elements. For more information please visit our electrical page. 

Safe Isolation of Electrics

The course is intended to provide practical guidance for electrical operatives on low voltage safe isolation procedures during construction projects. The aim is to prevent incidents, which could result in electric shock or burn injuries to employees or other workers

Refrigeration Electrics course

This course is designed to improve the learner’s knowledge of refrigeration system electrical wiring and motor control circuits. It is suitable for refrigeration technicians and other trades who need to understand how to fault find electrical circuits using wiring diagrams.

18th Edition 2392-18 1 day update course

This 1 day update course is for anyone who has the 17th edition 3rd amendment and would like to upgrade to 18th edition without sitting the full course. Please note only the updates are taught in the morning and the full 18th edition exam is sat in the afternoon. Please visit our electrical page for more information. 

ASME IX Welding TIG, MIG STICK (10 days)

This course is about what you require from an ASME IX coding qualification, it will be designed with you to maximise the level of outcome possible in the time available. We do offer this bespoke to peaoplewho need retests or just need less then 10 days training 


All our courses will be tailored to your requirements and the required coding you must obtain.We have no set duration for these courses as everyones requirements are different. We deal with Novice welders to highly experienced MIG,TIG & Stick MMA welders who need to recertify. Novices are expected to complete this course within 5 days to obtain a BS4872 qualification.

5 day Basic Welding Course

5 day basic welding course in TIG, MMA and MIG. Certificate of attendance is given as proof of completion.

We provide all bespoke courses of anyone who requires anything that is not listed.

10 and 15 day Refrigeration and Air conditioning course

10 and 15 refrigeration and air-conditioning engineering course, This training course is very hands on. FGAS, pipework and Brazing, Hydrocarbons and mobile air conditioning included within the 15 day course. 

City and Guilds / Besa Pipework and Brazing

1 and 2 day pipework and brazing course. City and guilds 6187/21 or BESA training available. Industrial and commercial 

City and Guilds 6187- 21 & 31 Hydrocarbons

City and guilds 6187/21 Hydrocarbon handling  and  City and Guilds 6187/31 understanding Hydrocarbons systems  level 3, One day training.

FGAS Renewals (1 & 2 days)

City and Guilds 2079 or BESA 1 or 2 day FGAS renewal. Do you need to renew your certificate. One or two days course available from our centre in Yorkshire. 

Abrasive Wheels Training (half day)

This course is designed to give learners knowledge and sufficient practice to enable the operator to safely undertake the mounting of abrasive wheels in compliance with the prescribed regulations. This is now a must in all manufacturing sectors.

Oxy-Gas Fuel Safety Training (1 day)

1 day course consisting of practical and theory. Must be delivered onsite

Ammonia Awareness (1 day)

Designed for operatives and staff that work within an ammonia plant. This is a 1 day theory session covering health and safety and other safety issues.

Level 3 15 day Refrigeration and Air- conditioning Engineering course ELC funded

Resettlement training for MOD ( ex forces / Military) candidates who have received ELCAS (ELC) funding. Our courses are totally Level 3 and are perfect for anyone wanting to get into the Refrigeration and Air-conditioning sector. We accept funding from Forces charities ( British legion etc) and CTP . We are centre Number 4615.  For more information.
